Electronic controls failed in less than a year

I purchased this GE Profile dryer in December, and less than a year later the electronic controls have already stopped working. The dryer still has power and the display comes on, but the display is frozen on the previous cycle time. The selector dial does nothing, the Start/Pause button does nothing, and none of the other touch controls respond or even beep. The Power button is the only control that still works, and it only turns the display on and off. I have also power-cycled the dryer, but the problem remains. What concerns me even more is that after this happened, I started reading other owner reviews and found multiple complaints involving control boards, communication failures, dryers stopping during cycles, and other electronic issues that developed after the machines had been in use for a while. I understand that online reviews do not prove every machine will have the same problem, and mine still needs an official diagnosis. However, for a premium dryer that costs well over $1,000, I should not be dealing with a major electronic/control failure before the first year is even over. I am still within the warranty period and will be pursuing service through GE. I plan to update this review once the technician diagnoses the problem and I know exactly what component failed. At this point, I would caution potential buyers to pay close attention to the long-term reliability reviews, not just the reviews written shortly after purchase.

Disappointed to say the least. We purchased the matching washer and dryer and pedestal stands in September 2024. Not a cheap purchase. Here we are August 2026, less than 2 years later, and the dryer began making a terrible loud noise. Mind you there is only two of us in the household and one of us hangs most of our clothes to dry so the dryer has had limited use. This was our first time to purchase GE Appliances and did so upon recommendation from the big chain store sales person where appliances were purchased. We had no intent of purchasing another appliance but since the warranty was out and we did not purchase an extended warranty we scraped our expensive dryer and purchased another just like it because we did not feel it cost worthy to purchase both appliances right now. This is a financial burden. Who has ever heard of a dryer going out in less than 2 years? My previous brand dryer lasted 10 years. The dryer was nice while it was working. I have talked to customer service this morning and received no satisfaction from the call. I tried to talk to someone before making a bad review. It would be nice if a caring person would contact us. I have a video I can provide.

WOW!! What a great upgrade, very happy with my choice of this machine. Even though my old Whirlpool dryer, vintage 1998, was still going strong... we upgraded, to match the washer replacement. VERY impressed with the increased capacity of this machine. Looks great, including the 15" pedestal that makes it even more convenient to load/unload. Highly reccomend it.

Horrible washer and dryer Lowes and Bodewell

I bought this dryer and washer from Lowes. The install was not correct so it required Bodewell technicians to come just 2 weeks after it was purchased to fix the washer. The very next week the dryer will not start up and Bodewell which is the only service we can go with to fix it can™€™t get me in for a week just to evaluate not fix. And this was after hanging up on me twice. So, we got rid of our old reliable washer and dryer (Not GE) for 2 new ones that have done less than 10 loads but cost me over $3000. Do not buy this washer or dryer especially from Lowes where you™€™ll get Bodewell for the ™€œwarranty™€ service. Just awful.

This dryer can hold a decent amount of clothes and still dry them fully on the first run. We've had a lot of thunderstorms the last couple weeks in which our basement ended up flooding so I had to use the sanitizer and oh my did it steralize the clothes and leave them smelling fresh with the hot steam.

No reverse tumble

Very unhappy to find out that this dryer does not have reverse tumble. I didnt realize that it was not standard on all of their dryers. My old GE Profile dryer from 15 years ago had reverse tumble. I called GE and she looked up the model and she said it is supposed to have reverse tumble, so they sent a technician out. The tech came and left. He said it needed a new board. About thirty minutes after he left he called me back and said he called GE and they said that it does not have reverse. Its a total nightmare every week when I wash bedding. It gets all balled up and I constantly have to untangle it every 10 minutes. Very unhappy.

Clothes do not always dry the first time through. Sometimes it™€™s towels, or cuffs and waists on sweats or jeans. Sometimes it think tee shirts. Other times it works perfectly. To top it off? Called GE about repairs and the call was disconnected / while talking to someone and I™€™ve gotten no return call 15 minutes later.

Absolutely love this washer and dryer set. The washer is so quiet, quick, user-friendly! I left clothes in there for 2 days accidentally and it didn't smell at all, therefor I didn't have to rewash! Love the ventilation feature, so i can leave the door closed after each wash. The capacity is so amazing for our family size. I wait to do laundry on Sundays and they've eliminated a whole nother load of laundry that needs done, saving time and money. The dryer is much more reliable and efficient as well. They are beautiful. The only issue I've had with them is pairing them to the App and it draws a ton from my internet. I turned off the wifi on both sadly. It could just be they're too far away from the router. Definitely happy with our purchase!

Interchangeable door for stackable appliance

Door can be changed when it's a stackable appliance, but there's a problem when that happens. It doesn't line up and the outside plastic is now falling off. It became this way shortly after I started using the dryer. I don't know if this is a manufacture issue or Lowe's installation problem. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

Would not recommend. First new washer leaked from back vent area and shook violently. Second new washer shakes as well, appliance store sent a second delivery team out a week later to adjust feet and level properly. Washer still shakes, now we have to wait 2 more weeks for that apt. I think we are dome with these and they are not even a month old.

Major Defects Violent Vibration Not Recommended

This washer has been an absolute disaster. It is outrageously loud when draining and vibrates so violently during spin cycles that it feels unsafe to operate. The hot water does not work on the whites cycle, and the water hammering in my walls is severe and uncontrolled. During spin cycles, the machine physically walks away from the wall and has caused water damage to my home, including repeated damage to my subfloor. GE Appliances Consumer Relations has been completely unhelpful. After multiple failed service attempts and documented property damage, their only response was to offer a replacement and shift responsibility back to the retailer. This does not resolve the ongoing defects, safety concerns, or damage caused by this unit. A replacement is not an acceptable solution after repeated failures and home damage. GE™€™s refusal to take accountability makes this experience even worse than the defective product itself. I strongly advise consumers to think twice before purchasing. Way better than Samsung

It™€™s only been a few weeks but so far, this GE washer works way better than our Samsung that had to be serviced twice in less than 5 years. With this GE, the entire load of laundry gets wet, which wasn™€™t the case with our top load Samsung. Laundry seems cleaner and fresher. I haven™€™t tried all the features yet but I am pleased with this washer. Now for my only gripe. With 3 dogs that shed a lot, we are washing bedding and dog beds every week. This washer does a great job getting the hair off of the laundry but it sticks all over the drum and rubber door gasket and leaves a huge wad of fur at the bottom of the gasket. It™€™s next to impossible to wipe the hair off of the rubber gasket as the hair sticks to the rubber. If you are dealing with a lot of pet hair, you™€™ll have to allow extra time to do a rinse & spin cycle and wipe down afterwards. Overall, I love this washer, I just have to allow extra time.

Beautiful easy to use Dryer

We just got our new GE Profile Dryer with 16™€ matching pedestal. The controls are simple to use, the dryer is energy efficient with very low noise, and it dries our laundry evenly. The light inside the dryer is great. The pedestal is making laundry loading & unloading a breeze. I love all the storage space inside the pedestal drawer.

Pleased with this Dryer

I've had this GE dryer for a couple of months and I am very satisfied with it. I like that It dries a generous amount of clothing. However, I sometimes have to extend the drying period as some clothes are slightly damp initially. It could be user error though. The controls are easy to use with many types of drying options to choose from . In addition, the blue color of the dryer is a welcome change from the boring black, white or stainless steel options.

Easy to use with large capacity
